IzPack at fOSSa 2009

This week I had the pleasure to attend and present at the fOSSa 2009 conference which was held in Grenoble, France.

The event was very pleasant and well organized, with good content and networking. It was also the occasion for me to see friends such as Ludovic (aka Mr OpenDS) who was one of the attendees.

I did a talk on IzPack and community building. I started with a demo and an overview of IzPack, then I shared some thoughts on free / opensource software. The good news is that I stirred some emotions from a Mandriva guy (who was very funny and interesting BTW) when I attacked the AGPL and GPL licenses for being evil, and only used by anxious people (which is true anyway :-) ).

I'll probably extract those specific slides and make separate blog posts to explain those thoughts, as it may be interesting to this audience.

I have posted the slides on Slideshare (the pictures on slides 3 and 4 come from FlickR CC-licensed materials).
